Pius V (1566-72) Testone, 1571 Lepanto Victory

This coin of Saint Pius V commemorates the victory over the Turkish fleet at the battle of Lepanto in 1571. The reverse depicts the Pope kneeling before the crucifix, his tiara on the ground. Around, ABSIT NISI IN TE GLORIARI ('May I never boast except in thy glory" (Galatians 6:14)). Missing letters, some roughness in the reverse field, VG, but still, a really nice coin with original toning, never cleaned.
