(Pius XII) Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Vatican Award

Instituted by Pope Leo XIII in 1888 on the occasion of his 50th priestly jubilee and bestowed upon the men and women who made the jubilee and Vatican Exposition successful. Made a permanent distinction in 1898 to award both clergy and lay persons who have given exceptional service to the Church.
