Clement XIV (1769-74) The Via Crucis

Obverse: Pope Clement XIV facing right; Reverse: kneeling Christ, having fallen under the weight of His cross; around, FACTUS EST PRINCIPATUS SUPER HUMERUM EIUS (The leadership has been placed upon his shoulders (taken from Isiah 9:6)). A cast medal, perhaps early 19th century, of a struck original. The model used appears to have been holed, as an imprint can be seen at 12 o'clock. Bold and dramatic, this is an extremely fine cast in very fine condition.
