Pope Gregory XIII medal of the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, August 1572. Reverse depicts an angel, a sword in one hand, a cross in the other, advancing on the Huguenots. Beautiful 18th century strike of this historically important medal with lots of sharp detail. Brown Unc with hints of red.
