Large bronze medal, 74 millimeters in diameter, commemorating the First Vatican Ecumenical Council which opened on December 8, 1869 and adjourned October 20, 1870. Reverse depicts Christ giving the keys of heaven to St. Peter. Sculpted by Giuseppe Bianchi. About uncirculated condition with one tiny rim ding on reverse.
