Reverse: At center, the obelisk Flaminio, one of the tallest obelisks in Rome, re-erected by architect Domenico Fontana in the Piazza in 1589 as part of Sixtus V's urban plan. In the background, the Porta del Popolo and the basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo. Sharply struck, ex-mounted in 3 places. Work of Niccolo De Bonis. ORIGINAL medal with contemporary gilding.
