Paul III A.XIII 1547 Leone Leoni Medal

Pope Paul III Anno XIII (1547) bronze medal. Obverse: Pope left. Reverse: The goddess Annona, personification of plenty. 36mm in diameter, 22.7 grams, C.N.O.R.P. #326. Very sharp, this has the appearance of a struck medal although Adolfi Modesti lists it as a cast. Attributable to Leone Leoni, the most renowned 16th century medallist. An example of this medal resides in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. (Rarity=3).
