Clement XII (1730-40) Portrait Medal

Obverse: Pope Clement XII facing right, wearing cap, cope and stole. Reverse: Two palm branches, their stems tied with a ribbon at bottom. Legend within: LONGANIMITAS ET FORTITUDO (Patience and Fortitude). Artist Jacques Antoine Dassier was born in Geneva, studied in Paris and worked in Italy in 1736-7 before moving on to England and Russia. This medal is apparently the only one he made for the papacy.
