46.4mm bronze medal for the consecration of Luis Manual Fernandez de Portocarrero (Ludovico Fernandez Portocarrero) as Cardinal Archbishop of Toledo, Spain in 1688. Detailed reverse depicts at top center, the Angel of Fame with trumpets standing atop a pedestal; below, the four cardinal virtues of Justice, Fortitude, Temperance and Prudence. At bottom left, a soldier and cannon. At top left, cherubs carry a mitre and a galero or, tasseled cardinal's hat. To the right is a galleon carrying the flag of the Kingdom of Castile.
